A function is defined as the relationship between input (x) and output (y) wherein for each input x, there exists only one output value y.

Let us looks at the graphs and check whether they satisfy the definition of a function

1) No : It is not a function because for input x = 3, we have three output values y = -3, y = 4 and y = -4

2) No : It is not a function because from the graph we observe that for few values of input x, there are 2 output values .

3) No : Circle is not a function because for each input x corresponds to two y values.

4) Yes : This is a function because there is one-to-one relationship btween the input and output. For each value of x, there exists only one output value y

5) No : This is not a function because for each input x corresponds to two y values.

6) Yes : This is a function because there is one-to-one relationship btween the input and output. For each value of x, there exists only one output value y
