Directional result if the election favours small and large sized individual more individual of that type will be present in next generation with continued selection over the generation mean size of population would have changed

stabilizing if selection favours average size the number of small and large sized individual will decline and the trait of average size will remain predominant it is stabilizing which reduces variation and maintain mean value.

directional when natural selection favour both small sized and large sized indiidual natural selection will be disruptive . It produce two peak in distribution of trait that may lead to development of two population.
