The P-value is the probability that the test statistic obtained is as large as or greater than the one obtained under assumption that the null hypothesis is true.

A large p value (greater than 0.1) indicate that the null has a higher chance of being true, whereas a smaller p value (lesser than 0.01) would indicate that the alternative hypothesis is true.

Hence when the p value is small, we reject the null hypothesis:
