As the pole is in equilibrium, net torque acting on the pole is zero.

Let Tis the tension i the rope.

Apply, net torque about pivot = 0


T*3.8 - 24*9.8*(7/2)*sin(90-37) - 11.5*9.8*7*sin(90-37) = 0


T = (24*9.8*(7/2)*sin(90-37) + 11.5*9.8*7*sin(90-37))/3.8

= 338.8 N
