Answer #1

Ans: Using your given information, I think only one type of X-linked inheritence.

In male (only one X chromosome), one mutated copy of gene in each cell is sufficient to cause the disease. But in case of females they have two copies of X chromosome, one alter copy gene in each cell not cause the disease as it's a recessive disorder.

X-linked dominant, carrier mother Unaffected father Carrier mother I XX XY Unaffected Affected Carrier XY XX XX XY Un affecte

Huntington’s disease is a devastating genetic disorder with no known effective treatment. However a test for detecting the HD gene is available and relatively inexpensive to administer. Carriers of the HD gene typically develop symptoms in the prime of their life that range across a variety of physical and emotional disorders. In advanced stages they are rendered helpless against involuntary muscle spasms throughout the body and suffer irrational emotional outbursts. Death inevitably occurs usually 15-20 years after the onset of...

    3. Sickle-cell disease is a genetic condition caused by an autosomal recessive allele which al- fects one in every 500 African American children born in the U.S. One in every ten African Americans is a carrier for the recessive allels. Although sickle cell disease is caused by a single human gene, it is expressed through many different effects throughout the body. The presence of a recessive sickle-cell allele in humans causes the red blood cells to produce abnormal hemoglobin protein...

    10. Red green colorblindness is an X-linked recessive disease. That means that it is carried on the X chromosome, so men have just one copy of the gene while women have two. In women, both copies must be the recessive disease allele in order to show the disease phenotype, but because men only have one allele, just one recessive allele causes the disease phenotype. Matt and Kate both have normal vision, but Kate's father is colorblind. Use X for the...

    1. Tay-Sachs is an autosomal recessive disorder, which is the inability for infants to breakdown gangliosides in the CNS, which overtime build-up and destroy neurons. As the disease progresses, the child loses muscle control. Eventually, this leads to blindness, paralysis and death. If you have a family history of Tay-Sachs disease or if you're a member of a high-risk group and plan to have children, doctors strongly recommend genetic testing and genetic counseling.
