Ans 1: RNA polymerase has proofreading activity

RNA polymerase is an enzyme that possess the proofreading activity which are mainly of two types: 1. Pyrophosphorolytic editing: It is a type of reaction mechanism where an incorrectly inserted ribonucleotide is removed immediately by reincorporation of the pyrophosphate (PPi) by the enzyme RNA polymerase. 2. Hydrolytic editing: It is a type of reaction mechanism where polymerase enzyme backtracks by one or few nucleotides cleaves the wrongly inserted RNA product and performs subsequent removal of error containing sequences from the nascent mRNA chain. All other options are not appropriate since prokaryotic RNA doesn't undergo nuclear processing such as splicing, It occurs in eukaryotes, Option C is not correct since polypeptides are made by addition of amino acid to the carboxyl group of the previous amino acid which results in the formation of a peptide bond between carboxyl group of one amino acid and amino group of the other. Option D is not correct since 3' end of mRNA doesn't correspond to carboxyl terminus of the protein.
