Answer #1

u = 2x²+1

v = xy

At a point (3m , 1m ),

u = 2x² + 1 = 2*3²+1 = 19 m/s

v = xy = 3*1 = 3m/s

Magnitude of velocity at point (3m, 1m) is given by

V = \sqrt{u^{2}+v^{2}}=\sqrt{19^{2}+3^{2}}=19.235 m/s

Direction of velocity with x-axis is given by,

tano u

\theta = tan^{-1}\frac{v}{u}= tan^{-1}\frac{3}{19}= 8.972^{0}
