Answer #1

Rate constant K = 9.5 * 10-² M/s

Given Reaction is first order Reaction can be said by unit of rate constant.

Let initial concentration of [B°] = 100

Residual concentration [B] = 100 - 28.5 = 71.5

For first order reaction-

K = (1/T) ( ln [B°]/[B] )

T = (1/K) ( ln [B°]/[B] )

T = (1/9.5*10-²) ( ln 100/71.5)

T = 10.53 * 0.336

T= 3.537 min

T = 3.537*60 = 212.21 seconds
