Putrescine is a dibasic compound (H2N-CH2-CH2-CH2-CH2-NH2) having 2 amino groups at both terminals.

After forming its monohydrochloride salt ((H2N-CH2-CH2-CH2-CH2-NH2.HCl) it is basic in nature.

Hence it is basic salt
