Answer #1

YES. WATER BOILS AT A LOWER TEMPERATURE ALSO.

HERE ARE TWO 2 REASONS.

1) DECREASING THE PRESSURE

2) AT AN ELEVATED PLACE OR ALTITUDES

1) WE KNOW THAT ,

AS PER GAS EQUATION P V = R

TEMPERAURE IS INVERSELY PROPORTIONAL TO PRESSURE.

SO, BY DECREASING THE PRESSURE FROM 1 ATM, WE CAN MAKE WATER BOIL AT A LOWER TEMPERAURE THAN AT 1000 C.

FOR WATER, EXERTS CERTAIN VAPOUR PRESSURE A TANY ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE..

THIS IS THIS VAPOUR PRESSURE OF 1 ATM, THAT MAKES WATER BOILS.

BUT, WHEN THE PRESSURE IS DECREASED,THE VAPOUR PRESUURE OF WATER REACHES THAT PRESSURE AT A LOWER TEMPERAURE.

HENCE THE WATER BOILS AT A LOWER TEMPERAURE.

2) A HIGH ALVITUDES, THE ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE BECOMES LOW AND LOW AS WE GO TO HIGHER ALTITUDES..

SO IN THAT PARTICULAR CASE ALSO, WATER BOILS AT A LOWER TEMPERAURE.
