Answer #1

1)The law of conservation of mass states that mass can neither be created nor destroyed in a chemical reaction. Thus, the amount of matter cannot change before and after a chemical reaction.

2)NAOH is a highly reactive base. The reaction is highly exothermic, hence addition of large volumes of NaOH at a time could release a large amount of heat which could cause injury to the body. Also if we add it quicky it could splatter over your skin which is dangerous.

3)No information provided about the asked reaction. An answer can be provided if any info is provided about what experiment and reaction is being discussed in the question. :)

4)The given equation is a single displacement reaction where Zn replaces Fe in its compound state owing to its higher reactive nature as compared to Fe in the reactive series of metals.since a single compound is being displaced its a single displacement reaction.

5)Zn + S → ZnS
According to this equation and the law of conservation of mass

0.654 g of Zn + 0.321 g of sulfur react completely.
so mass of reactants equals mass of products which means the amount of ZnS produced will be 0.654 + 0.321
which is 0.975 g of ZnS

6)

Answer:

2KClO3(s) + heat→2KCl(s)+3O2(g)

Explanation:

KClO3(s) + heat→KCl(s)+O2(g)

Notice that the number of atoms of K and Cl are the same on both sides, but the numbers of O atoms are not. There are 3 O atoms on the the left side and 2 on the right. 3 and 2 are factors of 6, so add coefficients so that there are 6 O atoms on both sides.

2KClO3(s) + heat→KCl(s)+3O2(g)

Now the K and Cl atoms are not balanced. There are 2 of each on the left and 1 of each on the right. Add a coefficient of 2 in front of KCl.

2KClO3(s) + heat→2KCl(s)+3O2(g)

The equation is now balanced with 2 K atoms, 2 Cl atoms, and 6 O atoms on both sides.

7)The above equation is a decomposition reaction. Because one compound decomposes to form 2 other compounds.

8) 3 Ca(OH)2 + 2 H3Po4 = Ca3(Po4)2 + 6 H2O

we observe that all the compounds are balanced here by balancing each compound separately and checking that each compound has the same number of atoms on each side.
