How does an argument differ from a quarrel or shouting match? Explain fully in at least a paragraph. In doing so, be sure to offer an example of each.
Answer- An argument is a rather civilized discussion, which tends to be rational and pacific. An argument typically revolves around disagreement and can be sardonic in some cases. An argument can be had without hostility and can also result in a mutual agreement. For example- John believes that the internet is a good invention. However, Sarah does not believe so. This contention is then argued by each party with logical explanations and examples.
A quarrel, on the other hand, is some sort of a dispute or a heated disagreement, which is usually over a trivial issue. Quarrels mostly take place between people who are usually on good terms. A shouting match is a form of a loud quarrel. A quarrel usually takes places when two people have very strong opinions and are unwilling to hear the other one out. For example- Suzanne and her husband usually quarrel about money.
