Change in any organization is the ultimate thing that need to be considered on regular basis, without implementing change, one can experience stagnation and no growth. But for change to implement, it becomes important to make the employees understand the importance of change so that the resistance to change is reduced to large extent.

In a health care organization, it is important to make a shift from paper medical records, to electronic record keeping. As a laboratory manager following can be done with my team to make employees understand:

• Before directly implementing the electronic medical record system taking review of employees regarding the change being thought to be implemented.
• Taking suggestions from the employees regarding keeping medical records online is must before actually taking a decision.
• Next, meetings with the employees can be conducted where the importance of maintaining records electronically can be explained to the employees.
• Employees can be told about time being saved in keeping records electronically and reduction of manual work with increase in efficiency level, so that they can think in favor of bringing the change.
• Also, telling the employees that errors can be easily identified without delay after keeping records electronically can help mould employees in favor of using EMR.
• The team after explaining the positive points of implementing electronic medical records, can easily make recommendations to start keeping records electronically and shift to this system as soon as possible.
