"Calculate the position of the sun in the sky (i.e. Z, the zenith angle) for Los Angeles (34. N, 118.23W) on March 21st (spring equinox) for each daylight hour in intervals of 2hrs except for the beginning and end of the day. i.e. 6:30, 8:00, 10:00, 12:00, 2:00, 4:00, 5:30. Use the military clock so that 2:00pm = 14:00 hours. The time is given in local apparent solar time; no correction is needed."

I don't know where to begin. What equation should I use initially? I know that I'll be able to cancel some stuff out because sigma is zero but other than that I am lost!
