Answer #1

Mass of xenon = 47.5 mg = 47.5 g / 1000 = 0.0475 g

1000 mg = 1 g

Atomic weight of Xe = 131.3 g/mol

Number of moles = mass in gram / Atomic weight

Number of moles of xenon = 0.0475 g / 131.3 g/mol = 0.0003617 mol = 3.617 * 10^-4 mol

Number of Xe atoms = 3.617 * 10^-4 mol * 6.022 * 10^23 mol^-1 = 21.78 * 10^19

From question, number of neon atoms = 21.78 * 10^19

Number of moles of neon = 21.78 * 10^19 / 6.022 * 10^23 mol^-1 = 3.617 * 10^-4 mol

Atomic mass of neon = 20.18 g/mol

Mass of neon = 20.18 g/mol * 3.617 * 10^-4 mol = 0.0073 g

Mass of neon = 0.0073 g = 0.0073 * 1000 mg = 7.30 mg
