Assumptions for success of chemical inventory electronic system -

• We should be aware of the size of the chemical inventory program. Based on the size and no. of persons who will be using the software should be known. This will ease the selection of software and it's versions and future updates.
• Software should be able to flag the special chemical based on their hazardous effects which will help everyone to identify the chemicals and will prevent any unwanted chemical reactions.
• Softwares should be able to identify the chemicals which meet the local,federal and national chemical guidelines.
• It should be able to facilitate some product identification techniques like barcoding, laser etc.
• Report generation and ease of entering and disposals should be kept in mind.
• Software should be cost effective.
• System should be user friendly.
