QUESTION 1
This question is debatable since this depends on a lot of factors. Starting with the most obvious, the system of fast food. Most Americans are busy since almost all the population has a job (there unemployment rate this year is around 3.5%). Why is this relevant? Well, they do not have much time to cook or find healthier food. In fact, they prefer to pass by Starbucks at the morning and just drink a coffee (bad idea). At the lunch, the commonly use fast food services, deliveries and services that allow them to not move from their work or home. Remember that getting a healthy diet is not based on eating less, you need to eat at least 5 times at the day in order to cover the requirements of your body. However, it will depends on what you eat and how much you eat.
Another thing that is important is that ”healthy food” is not as accessible as a Mc Donald's, and cooking healthy food for some people looks hard since they are not familiar with it. Finally, the price of food is come thing that could influence some people. Organic food tends to be a little more expensive since it has a lot of work being its production. The fast food is so cheap because it is not well treated, the time of production is relatively low and the ingredients are cheap.
We can not confirm all of the factors that influence Americans to not follow the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, but we can predict three major reasons that we already mentioned: Time, accessible fast food and high prices of healthy food.
