Explain in detail, how the intracellular protein buffer system acts to minimize ph changes.
Answer : The intracellular protein ( made up of Aminoacid having
functional group amino and acidic ) buffer system
function by way of the -NH2 and -COOH groups present on the amino
acid sections within the intracellular proteins. If free H+ is
released into the intracellular compartment, the NH2 or COO- groups
react with it to bind it by the following reactions.
H+ + -NH2 → -NH3+
H+ + COO- → -COOH
on the other hand, free OH- is released into the intracellular
compartment, the -NH3+ or -COOH groups react with it to bind it by
the following reactions.
OH- + -NH3+ → -NH2
OH- + COOH → -COO-
Both of these actions is responsible for minimising ph

Protein A has an isoelectric ph of 3. Protein B has an isoelectric ph of 5. Protein C has an isoelectric ph pf 7. Given these proteins, predict the direct of movement in the electrophoresis chamber is the buffer in the chamber has a ph of 6. Explain your reasoning.
Please explain in detail how to determine the answer : If a part of a protein has sequence of GLEDKSA and forms one continuous α-helix, which amino acid is the carbonyl of glycine non-covalently boned to?
Explain the role of buffers in the control of blood pH Question In the digestive process, acids are introduced to the blood more than bases. The bicarbonate buffer system acts to neutralize pH changes in the blood. The respiratory system is involved in the process to help maintain the levels of carbonic acid in the blood. What compound is exhaled in order to reduce the carbonic acid concentration in the blood? Give the answer as a chemical formula. Do not...
Explain how the system of a single cell is supposed to function in a normal environment and how it is being affected by the item listed below. This means explaining how all aspects of the cell (inside and outside) may be impacted by these problems. Please describe in detail how it acts under normal activity, vs the result of increased activity, and WHY it might increase in activity Increased activity of mitogen-activated protein kinase(s)
± pH Changes in Buffers Part A What is the pH of a buffer prepared by adding 0.708 mol of the weak acid HA to 0.608 mol of NaA in 2.00 L of solution? The dissociation constant Ka of HA is 5.66×10−7. Express the pH numerically to three decimal places. Part B What is the pH after 0.150 mol of HCl is added to the buffer from Part A? Assume no volume change on the addition of the acid. Express...
A buffer capacity is a measure of a buffer solution's resistance to changes in pH as strong acid or base is added. Suppose that you have 145ml of a buffer that is 0.220M in both benzoic acid (C6H5COOH) and it's conjugate base (C6H5COO-). Calculate the maximum volume of 0.220M HCL that can be added to the buffer before it's buffering capacity is lost. _________mL There was no other information given for this question.
