how to draw this in Solidworks. Create the following
closed-loop profiles using the 2-D drawing capabilities of your
solid modeling software. Define the geometry and sizes precisely as
shown, using the necessary geometric constraints. Do not over- or
underconstrain the profiles.
We have used SOLIDWORKS software to draw the given sketch.
STEP 1) Select a plane and draw the circles and lines with given dimensions as shown in the below picture.
STEP 2) Now provide the tangency relation between (circle-circle) and (circle-line) as shown below.
STEP 3) Draw lines at an inclination of 30 degrees with the reference line drawn from the centre of the circle.
STEP 4) Now trim the unnecessary lines and arcs to get a closed sketch as shown below.
STEP 5) Draw a 3-POINT ARC at the bottom which is symmetric about Y-axis and provide the given dimensions appropriately.
STEP 6) Trim the bottom lines which is below the arc as shown in the figure.
STEP 7) Atlast make the bottom corners of the sketch as fillet which is required with the radius of 0.38 inches as shown
Hence our required sketch is drawn and all the dimensions are provided .
