If you were to design a study to measure visual processing (e.g., differences between the what/where pathways in the brain), what methods would you use?
The following are the currently used test batteries to measure visual processing (it is different from measuring visual acuity).
1). Visual object and space recognition battery (VOSP)
(i) Object recognition (determining the shape, incomplete letters, etc)
(ii) Spatial relations (counting the dots, locating the numbers, differentiating the positions, etc.)
2). Birmingham object recognition battery (BORB)
BORB measures the low level visual perception aspects such as objects position, determining the size and length, etc.

e.g. chronic kidney disease patients If you were carrying out case-control study, describe where you would select an appropriate comparison group (i.e. those without chronic kidney disease) from? Be specific in describing the type of people you might include and where you recruited them from, justifying why these characteristics are important from a study design perspective (1-2 paragraphs)
Dr. Money wanted to determine whether there were differences between men and women in terms of the salaries that they earn. Dr. Money will need to use what kind of t-test? Question 1 options: Between-subjects design t-test Independent samples t-test Two-sample t-test In the PenCast, all of the terms were used to describe the t-test appropriate for the scenario above Within subjects t-test Save Question 2 (1 point) Dr. Bowles wanted to explore change in brain volume following a course...
How you would design a study to measure the proportion of children living in a country with a history of a certain infection. a) study design used b) study population and how you will sample them c) laboratory assays used
What are the differences between utility software and application software? Please describe it in detail and provide a few examples. A software developer has built software that plays video and music. She wants to provide this software to the user for free of charge but wants to have the copyright of the software. Which software licensing software should she use and why? List the different type of software licensing and how the buyer can use it? Multiprocessing and Parallel processing...
This is the question:::: discuss what visual information is processed by the retina and by simple and complex cells in V1, and what the differences are between these levels of information processing. 3. Historically, what were the differences between decision support and expert systems? What factors led to the narrowing of those differences? What implication does this have for the model management feature in DSS? 4. How do you know when you have included enough "intelligence" in a decision support system? 5. Compare and contrast symbolic processing and numerical processing. Why is the former referred to as "intelligence"? 6. What factors would lead you to recommend selecting a project that is appropriate...
You are asked to design a study to examine the relationship between physical activities and incidence of obesity among adolescents. 2.1 What is your independent variable? 2.2 What is your dependent variable? 2.3 How will you measure each, and what level of measurement is this?
What are the design differences between manufacturing and service products?
Describe the differences between correlations and regressions. Can you describe situations where you would use one of these over the over, and why you would do so?
This week you were introduced to managerial accounting and cost methods. Discuss the differences between fixed, mixed and variable costs by providing two examples of each type of cost. Why is it important for managers to understand the differences in these costs?
