1.Epithelial tissue: These are continuous sheet of cells that lines the internal surface and covers the external surface of the body. It also forms much of the glandular tissue of the body. Functions of the epithelial tissue include protection, absorption , and secretion

All epithelia share some important structural and functional features.The apical surface faces the lumen or external environment, the basal surface attaches to the basement membrane. The basal lamina provides an attachment site for the epithelium.
