Need help answering this question and topic is "Mattel and Toy Safety". Thank you.

Answer the questions at the end of the Case Study, "Mattel and Toy Safety", found on page 531 of the textbook.

3) What is the best way to ensure the safety of children’s toys? In responding, please consider how the following groups would answer this question: government regulators (in the United States and China); consumer advocates; the toy industry; children’s product retailers; and standard- setting organizations. What might explain the differences in their points of view?

Step : 1
Government regulators: Government should make rules and regulation to ensure that the
product is manufactured as per set standards. Government should also make sure that
standards are incorporated in the manufacturing process by the companies.
Consumer advocates: They should make testing and inspection mandatory to ensure the safety
and quality of toys.
The toy industry: The industry should design training programs to educate the labour making
the toys. This will ensure that labours perform their duties efficiently. The industry should impose
proper safety standards and testing methods.
Children’s product retailers: Retailers should sell the products which are safe for the use of
children. They should also warn the buyer for the hazards from the product if any.
Standard setting organizations: They should set standards and should ensure that these are
followed by the manufacturers.

Step 2:

The difference in the point of view is as a result of different responsibilities of each group. The
different groups provide protections at different levels. Thus they have different opinions to
safeguard the children.
