Shelterwood harvest canopy cover is much higher than the oak tree's canpoy.
Shelterwood trees have leaf area with high ratio of approximately 78% higher than the
the oak trees. This leads to a higher photosynthetic rates of beech grown under shelterwood
than oak under patch harvest.
