a- Chain transfer - It is a polymerisation reaction by which the activity of a growing polymer chain is transferred to another molecule. Chain transfer reactions reduces the average molecular weight of the final polymer.

b - carothers equation - This equation is used in step - growth polymerisation by which we can get the degree of polymerisation Xn for a given fractional monomer conversion p.

c - ATR - the full name of ATR is attenuated total reflectance.

d - Nonlinear optical polymers - The type of polymers which are nonlinear in nature and shows optical activity when exposed towards light.
