Why is it important to have a target market for a specific area?

  • Target market is something which is an immediate market and which the business serves on immediate basis.
  • Every business is required to set a target market for itself so that it can focus only on the limited area and serve its customers effectively.
  • Setting target market is important as it helps the business in identifying the immediate customers whom they need to satisfy and gain profits from.
  • Doing this, the business will be able to focus on limited area and can fully rule the niche market.
  • Moreover, the efforts will be centralized and limited to few customers, rather than working to satisfy the entire market and achieving very less.
  • The business after capturing the target market effectively and becoming a leader in the niche market, can think of expanding its business in the wider market and succeed step by step.

Building a sales force for the product:

It is important to build and create a strong sales force for the product so that the product can be sold effectively and sales can be managed by the sales force. Sales force can be build for the product as follows:

  • A strong team need to be build and recruited by the company which are effective and skillful enough to manage the sales of the product.
  • Proper training should be provided to the sales force so that they can learn new skills and techniques to manage the sales for the product.
  • The system should also be updated by the company so that it can help the sales force in maintaining the records of sales properly.
  • Making the sales force accountable for their actions and also giving them responsibility as a part of the sales force.
  • Also, the sales force should be provided with sufficient knowledge about the products so that they can make the sales a success by explaining the customers properly what the product is.
