The common safety practice needed that a designer or software engineer should keep in mind to avoid an accident while making a conveyor belt are:-

  • Inspecting conveyor controls so that no employee misuses, modifies, or disconnects them.
  • Controls should be easy to read, use, and accessible by all the operators.
  • Placing an emergency stops at highly visible and accessible locations is important in case of an emergency.
  • Conveyors contain lots of moving parts that can be hazardous if exposed.
  • Employees should not be able to remove or alter conveyor guards.
  • Guard openings should be made small to keep workers from entering.
