In a voltage clamp record, the cell is clamped at increasingly depolarizing voltages. Why does the sodium current get larger and then smaller, while the potassium current continues to grow larger?

The voltage gated sodium channel open and thus there is increase influx of positive charge inside the cell and increasing positive charge causes depolarization that is why sodium current get larger but at the peak of action potential the sodium channels start closing and thus the sodium current then reduces or gets smaller.But now the potassium channel opens to bring the cell at its resting potential thus the potassium current continues to get larger.
