I have experienced a lot of interesting and memorable classes but a music class still remains fresh in my memory. The students were all aware of the language as everyone were proficient in English. The teacher was very friendly and made it clear that the purpose of the class was not to teach us about the history and theories of music but to make us more interested in the field of music. He said that unless we feel music we won't be able to understand the theories behind it. He used a lecture method to start with and read some very interesting theories and quotes about music and simplified them for us. He used a strategy of making some of us whistle a tune and make some others guess it and thus making the environment of the classroom very friendly and musical. He also gave us an assignment to study about various musical genre of our choice. He said that he will make random teams and check our knowledge and will reward the winning team. There were many students of various English proficiency levels and he choose his words so correctly and carefully so that it was very easy to understand by everyone. He used simple daily words to accomodate with different ELP levels and also used gestures to improve the interaction.
