The preparation of 900 ml of a 3.00M HNO3 solution starting from the commercial reagent that is 69% HNO3 (w / w) and has a specific gravity of 1.42.

M1 = (85 g H3PO4 / 100 g solution) * (1 mol H3PO4 / 98 g) * (1.69 g solution / 1 mL) * (1000 mL / 1 L) = 14.66 M

By means of the dilution ratio, the necessary volume is calculated:

V1 = M2 * V2 / M1 = 6 M * 750 mL / 14.66 M = 307 mL

It is required to measure 307 mL of an 85% m / m solution in a 750 mL flask, and complete up to the capacity line with distilled water.
