Answer #1

1) propanal and acetophenone

Propanal and acetophenone can both give positive test to 2,4-DNP test where previpitate is formed of red/yellow colour which other functional groups cannot give

2) Propanal is aldehyde where as acetophenone is ketone. Tollen's Test will be useful for differentiating an aldehyde and ketone. Tollen reagent which a mixture of silver nitrate and ammonia, reacts with aldehyde and converts it the carboxylic acid. Silver gets reduced to metallic silver which is characteristic observation for this process. Ketones cannot be easily oxidized.

Schiff's test can be used to describe the difference between propanal and acetophenone. Propanal can restore back the pink colour of schiffs base where as ketones cannot
