In 2011, Barak Obama proposed “Buffett Rule”, what was his analysis ?
Buffet Rule refers to the then President Obama’s plans of taxing individuals who earned more than a million dollars per year with 30 % income tax. He felt that there should be some distinction between the rich and the poor in terms of paying the tax. It won’t be wise and just to tax both the rich and the middle class with the same amount of tax. This he believed that would help the middle class and the poor save some money on taxes and would force the rich to contribute more for what they earn. He thought that those who have the opportunity to earn more should also contribute more.
