A child’s understanding of death depends on age & development. Infants and toddlers have no understanding of death; they only sense the experiences of their caregiver. In contrast, the Preschoolers have a misconception that death is something temporary, which is reinforced by cartoons in which characters pop back to life despite things falling from the sky and hitting them. Since children are concrete thinkers we should not use euphemisms like "She has gone to sleep," "…traveled to the great beyond," as they are not going to be understood and may even generate fears of sleeping or taking long trips. The young child must be softly told about the universal reality that; his loved one has died explaining that, it means we will no longer be able to see her (Elyse, 2015). Thus we cannot evade telling this reality as young children will experience the death of pets and people again and again. For a standard approach in assessment for the identification of Early Help needs a tool is used for gathering information called EHAT. Thus EHAT is a tool that is recommended to practitioners
