Waxes, Oils, and Fats can undergo hydrolysis reaction because all of these contains ester functional group. Usually, ester group can undergo hydrolysis. For e.g. the structure of Fats i.e. triglycerides of fatty acid is given in the below image containing ester group. Similarly, the major component of oil is triglycerides. Waxes are esters of various carboxylic acid and alcohol. Steroids do not have an ester functional group in its structure.
