Answer #1

Answer:-

1) Recrystallization on a microscale utilizes a Craig tube.During recrylization initially Teflon plug is inserted to filter out liquid ,leaving solid compound in Craig tube

2) Then A minimum amount of hot solvent is added to the solid sample to dissolve the solid ,and heating may be accomplished either by placing the tube in a small breaker containing hot water or on an aluminium heating block.after solid dissolved , the tube is cooled in an ice water bath to induce and complete crystallization .

4)after the recrystallization is complete , centrifuge the Craig tube ,place in centrifuge tube. by spinning centrifuge at maximum speed for several minutes .the spinning cause the recrystallization solvent go to the bottom of the centrifuge tube and the crystals to remain inside the Craig tube on the end of the inner plug.

5) In this way we can do recrytalization of compound .
