Water is polar and exhibits hydrogen bonding. This is the strongest intermolcular force.Acteone is polar and has dipole-dipole intermolecular force of attraction between acetone molecules. Hydrogen bonding is strong intermolecular force than dipole -dipole . Hence water has higher boiling point than acetone
