Case Study Blendtec Goes Global ... Again Harvey Scott, vice president of international development, was in charge of Blendtec's global expansion effort. For example, in Australia, the power grid could fluctuate widely in terms of voltage. Most U.S. appliances would burn up under that kind of power variation. The Domestic markets will be most receptive to a greater presence from blendtec because it has a brand image and has capabilities that are unmatched by any supplier in the domestic market plus they already have collaboration with giants like Costco and Starbucks.

The thing that differentiates domestic market from the global market is the indigenousness of Blendtec and establishment of Blendtec as a market leader in Domestic markets due to its capabilities to manufacture and supply blenders with unmatched performance.

Blendtec should sell to local retailers and Costco in Domestic market as it is a market leader in Blenders and their products will sell easily because of the brand name.

But in Global market Blendtec should start by supplying to Costco and slowly after building the brand name in global marketes it should venture into local markets globally.
