Power of the lens=- 7.32 D

Hence , Focal length of the lens, f= 1/P= 1/-7.32 = -0.136 m =-13.66 cm

Now, Using the lens formula we have,

\frac{1}{f}=\frac{1}{u}+\frac{1}{v}

where, u is the object distance and v is the image distance

Therefore,

\frac{1}{v}=\frac{1}{f}-\frac{1}{u}=\frac{1}{-13.66}-\frac{1}{14.2}

\frac{1}{v}=\frac{1}{-13.66}-\frac{1}{14.2}=-0.1436

v=-6.96 cm

Therefore, option third is the correct nation.
