However, she does not know how to reach the Human Resources director Ms. Reeves. Knowing that you studied networks, she asks your advice. Based on your knowledge about the role of “ties” and “distance” in networks give two alternatives that can be useful in getting connected to Ms. Reeves. Also explain how these alternatives work.

Employees often face issues in connecting with their colleagues and seniors at the workplace. The two factors that are ties and distance play an essential role in enhancing the communication. Many research states that seen scholars and business strategists that the relation between spatial distance and relationships is inverse. Spatial distance means the distance between two individuals internally while communicating. The researchers have observed that there should be proximity in a communication process. A proximate communication is an effective one. The employees must understand that it is essential to connect with people for career growth. People must know each other due to their work and efficiency. This way, the employees can appreciate each other and achieve the overall goals. Many observers have also set up strategies to connect in an organization—the first alternative to not talking to keep an efficient flow of information. If an employee wants that his/her co-employees should know him/her, then the central and crucial date can be form ways to move data and thus allow people to hear the views in the organization. There can be information on news or any article or any research that will make people know about the employee. The second alternative is to think that the organization is like a community. The critical factor in communicating is confidence. Confidence comes with a change in mentality. The employees must always think of the organization as a community and greet the people at the workplace as this way can easily make connections. The companies nowadays organize meets and events. The employees can take advantage of these events to connect.
