b=√2

x=16

log√2 (16) = 8 


Raise both sides to the base √2 :

=> √2 ^(log√2 (16))  = (√2)^8 

=> 16 = ((2)^(1/2))^8 

=> 16 = 2^(8/2)

=> 16 = 2^4

=> 2^4 = 16 (ANSWER.
