The black death affected the art in a radical way . It was a devastating experience for everyone . The trauma Black death caused resulted in a different type of projection of death in the art . In the time period before the pandemic death was portrayed a symbol or passage between life and god or we can say illumination .But after the Pandemic death instigated fear and was seen as a sin in the artwork. The artwork which was produced at that time portrayed the experience of people with death. The idea of realism was induced in the art by black death. Art became more dark and death was portrayed as skeletons or as a black cloaked person which led to a negative perspective of death . Almost all the artwork at that time showed how death won over the ignorant human . We can take an example of a painting ' Plague' by Arnold Bocklin in which death is portrayed waiting . The painting is an integration of realism and symbolism which is naive in nature . The mental trauma given by the Balck death resulted in a very famous art form which is known as the Dance of death . This was first performed then it was converted into poems or we can say it was poeticized and the nat last it was painted . Danse Macabre can be seen on church walls . Death iconography was the result of the trauma faced by the people during the Black death days . This also portrays the thirst for life or the passion which the people on earth have for life .
