In each mole of salt MgSO4 . 3 H2O there are 3 molecules of water . This hydrated salt as a whole  has one molecule MgSO4 and 3 molecule of H2O in a single entity.

therefor for one mole of the salt there are 3 moles of H2O.
answer is 3
