My classmate's evidence is not enough to support the claim he is making because he is using just one individual case to form his judgement. This is a highly biased and selective method to support one's conclusion. If he wants to establish an objective and valid cause and effect relationship between mental illness and violent crimes, he should study a large set of individuals. This set should also include individuals who disprove his notions. The result obtained from such an exercise would scientifically support his claim.
