Fundamentals of Planning that GE execute ineffectively:

- General Electric Company execute the strategic planning that gives fruitless results. GE Co. attempted to move a large piece of equipment that did not succeed. After failing with this, they had to come up with various other plans of transporting equipment But According to my point of view, the main problem is with the tactical planning. In other words, we can say that the main problem was in middle management because they usually do tactical planning. operational management also fails.so, if they are (middle management) provide little more time in planning and effectively transport the equipment then may be it gives successful results.

Two Smart Goals For GE Based On The Case:

- Achievable:

(A) Goals should be challenging but it should be realistic too.

(B) The company did not take the transportation of the equipment lightly which means the company make planning regarding transporting the equipment. The company also decide to travel only at Night. Because at night it would not create problem on Highway.

- Quantifiable:

(A) The goal and its benefits should be measurable.

(B) Based on GE Guidelines, They are very concerned about transporting the equipment because failure in transporting may lead to huge loss to the company.

and the GE constantly making efforts to achieve above goals.

Political issues involved in this case:

Global political risk are involved in this case in which focuses on patterns that continuously going on negative trends which results negative crises, secondly focus on events that hit with immense force, Third patterns that have greater impact. and the last patterns that have chance of frequently happening and no time is left for reaction.

Based on the Figure, GE could done so many things to improve the process of transporting the evaporator:

So, in the figure two planning steps and two control steps are used.

Firstly, in the planning step: 1. Making the plans to improve the process,

2. and then implement the plans which leads to improve the results.

secondly,in the control step by correcting the deviations in the plans that are being carried out or by improving the future plans.
