The byzantine problem deals with the problem in which most of the people in the different parties are agreeing upon some statement but there are some people in some of the parties which are not agreeing and are corrupt. These parties are generally not reliable. These bad parties can take loyal parties with them and can let them walk on the bad plan.
Similar is the case with the bitcoin. A similar problem is faced by the algorithm used by bitcoin, Proof-of-Work consensus algorithm.
The solution to the above problem is that we should have an algorithm that is correct and doesn't follow the outliers, the final decision to the problem should be taken by loyal parties in the group but not by the bad parties in the group.
