Importance of documenting network problems and solutions.

Documenting Network problems and solutions is of great use. The problems in networks are reported every second and most of the problems are similar and repetitive. The documentation of network issues helps to solve the problem of anyone encountering the same problem. Sometimes, accessing of key information has to be very fast. So, Without documentation in place, it’s virtually impossible to stay on top of your equipment servicing before it becomes a problem - or, when a problem does surface - even more complicated when you need to track down tech. In the past when there’s been a malfunction, you’ve found a solution. With network documentation in place, when that same malfunction occurs again, you can quickly read about past issues, its symptoms and its resolutions.

Almost all coorporate networks are infinitely complex. So the tracing of problem each time is not entirely possible. It’s imperative that you be able to track the configuration of items and relationships in an organized system that any appropriate stakeholder can access concurrently. Network problems and solution tell us how the network is connected. So, this helps us to secure the network. Network documentation can include anything from a map of the network, to a simple document that matches IP addresses to a device. So the main point of network documentation problems and solutions is that it saves a great deal of time.

Results of laziness in documentation

Results of laziness in documentation process can lead to a huge loss in time. This would add unnecessary time to the diagnostic process and would cause the customer longer down time. Some Problems will require a huge amount of energy to solve increasing the effort and the cost. The network will not be secure as we will not know about the connections. The situation where key information needs to be accessed fast will be delayed and may cause additional problems. The complex networks might incur a small problem which may turn into a fatal one for the network. The networks keep on changing with time. So outdated documentation wont be able to solve problems
