Answer #1

Japan comprises of four main islands viz. Hokaido, Honshu, Kyushu and shikoku. Japan is dominated by mountanous terrain(73%) . A mountain range runs almost through every island. Mount fuji is the highest point with an elevation of 3776 m . This topography is generated by subduction that is why we see a number of active volcanoes and earthquakes. There is a little plain area in Japan( three plains in Honshu). Ishkari plain is in hokaido. on the sea side the height is low (500-1000m).

as it streches N to S it has 6 climatic zones. It is an overall rainy country having mostly mild climate due to ocean effect.

Hokaido has humid continental climate, Central highlands have a characteristic inland climate with large temp. variations between seasons., and Humid subtropical to rainforest climate in Ryuku.

41 degree Celcius is the highest recorded temp..
