The Earth's atmosphere is the gaseous envelope that surrounds our planet. While there is no exact upper limit for the extent of the atmosphere, we think of the exosphere is the region where our atmosphere merges into space, occurring at an altitude of approximately 500 km.

The three main properties of the atmosphere are temperature, pressure, and relative humidity.

Temperature can be measured by a thermometer (Fahrenite scale, celsius scale)

Pressure can be measured by a barometer (inches of mercury, pounds per square inch, millibars)

Relative humidity depends on vapour pressure and saturation vapour pressure and vapour pressure can be best measured using variable such as dewpoint temperature. thus relative humidity can be roughly estimated by comparing dewpoint temperature and actual temperature.
