15) glucose is an energy-rich molecule, it is oxidized through a series of steps with the release of energy, those reactions which release a large amount of energy but that reaction does not involve the substrate-level phosphorylation to produce ATP, ( substrate-level phosphorylation means Phosphate group from the substrate is transferred to ADP to produce ATP) in such reactions the energy is stored in NADH or FADH2, NADH is formed by the reduction of NAD+ and FADH2 is formed by the reduction of FAD+. So NADH and FADH2 act as carriers of high energy electrons which are used in the electron transport chain to produce ATP.

16) NADH is formed by the reduction of NAD+ and FADH2 is formed by the reduction of FAD+, electrons, and H+ are removed from the catabolic products to make NADH and FADH2 from NAD+ and FAD+ respectively.
