Answer #1

False, true, true, false

The process by which DNA replicates is called as DNA replication. It takes place in nucleus in eukaryotes and in cytoplasm in prokaryotes. It occurs by the help of enzyme DNA dependent DNA polymerase.

It is a semi discontinuous process. It is because the process of DNA synthesis is continuous on the leading strand where as it is discontinuous on the lagging strand.

On the leading strand, there is only one primer and one long molecule of DNA is synthesized. But on the lagging strand, there are multiple primers and to each primer short fragment of DNA is synthesized. This short fragment of DNA is called as okazaki fragment. When the process of replication is completed, the primers present between okazaki fragments are removed and the gap is filled by the enzyme DNA polymerase 1. The okazaki fragments are joined into a single continuous molecule of DNA by DNA ligase enzyme.
