Once a criminal has been convicted for something by the court, he/she has an option to appeal if he/she thinks the verdict was wrong. The relief options for a criminal are-

1. Convicted person can write an appeal within 30 days of ruling. The convicted must submit the application with proper facts assisted by laws, which represent the grounds on which the ruling by the previous court should be over ruled.

2. A writ from the higher court can over-rule the verdict of the lower court, and the case can be re-opened for a new trial

3. A writ of habeus corpus can be used, to bring an inmate out of the prison, and again determine that if the convicted person is lawfully in the prison or not.
